Meet Our Pastor and Co-Pastor

Pastor Simeon Corum

Simeon Lavelle Corum was born in Washington, DC to the late William Henry Corum and Barbara A. Corum on December 8. Simeon attended the University of District of Columbia in Washington DC. Simeon Corum is an anointed preacher and teacher of God’s Word! The Mantle of healing and deliverance is upon him for such a time as this! Simeon was baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost at the age of 22 and served for over 24 years as a minister, ordained elder and church administrator. He is a passionate minister with a heart for souls. Growing up in northwest Washington, DC, Simeon became involved in the entertainment field where drug abuse and alcoholism, crime and juvenile delinquency run rampant. Seeing many of his peers destroyed by the "streets" and the destruction of sin has made him determined to bring the life-changing power of the Word of God to the oppressed and down-trodden. Elder Corum ministers with relentless faith that God delivers His people and is ever present and working in their lives in all situations. Having been snatched from the clutches of natural and spiritual death, he is persuaded that God uses circumstances to reveal His character of healing, deliverance, and blessings to His church.” Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, ‘for thy sake we are killed all the day long’ we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter”. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death, no life, no angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, no things to come, Nor height, no depth, no any other creation shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus, Our Lord. (Romans 8:35-39 KJV) Elder Corum has been married to Joanne for 30 years. They are the proud parents of three gifted children; Ashley , Simeon Jr. and Jahmal, three beautiful grandchildren, Elijah Corum, McKenzie Corum, and Shiloh Lawson.

Co-Pastor Joanne Corum, First Lady

Psalmist, worship leader and intercessory prayer warrior are just a few of the words that describe Co-Pastor and First Lady Joanne Corum.  She is an anointed singer with a consecrated prayer life, interceding for the Body of Christ. Joanne was 18 years old when she came to Christ. Serving in the ministry for 27 years as a soloist, choir director, worship leader and missionary has equipped her for the call of God to pastor with her husband, Elder Simeon Corum, Pastor.

The life-changing experience of salvation at such an early age has given Joanne a desire to see youth empowered by the Word of God and not limited by the “hang-up” of church tradition.

Also, being the mother of three young adult children, all of whom are active in the ministry, sounds a clarion call to the Body of Christ that “this generation belongs to Christ.”  She believes that the voice of youth must be heard and understood if we are to reach them for Christ.

Co- Pastor Joanne also has an overwhelming passion and desire to minister to the “hurting church.” Those she describes as Christians that have been wounded and broken, misunderstood and isolated in the house of God.  She wants them to know that God has a secret place of security. A place of intimacy with God that protects and preserves us even as God uses the experiences of disappointment to prepare us for our call in ministry.   “He who dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty…Because thou hast made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High thy habitation…” Psalms 91

Co-Pastor Joanne’s life-long vision is to build a senior citizen home(s).  She has such love and adoration for the elderly and wants to give them a place where they can last in the love of God and the love of people who completely cares for all their needs.

Co-Pastor Joanne Corum believes that their ministry is the focus on unity of family.  She glories in the day that all their siblings will experience the saving grace of Jesus Christ and worship together in the beauty of holiness.

We could not ask for a better Co-Pastor and First Lady at Goshen Worship Center Church.
